What We Build and Host On
A straightforward, well-supported stack — chosen for stability and OJS compatibility, not for novelty.

- Apache 2.4+
- PHP 8.3+ (currently supported release)
- MySQL 8+ / MariaDB 10.6+
- OPcache enabled

- Open Journal Systems (PKP)
- PDO with native prepared statements
- utf8mb4 database encoding
- HTTPS everywhere
Frontend
- Tailwind CSS as a compiled build
- Vanilla JavaScript / Alpine.js for small interactions
- Local SVG icon assets
- No unnecessary frontend frameworks

- Content Security Policy with per-request nonce
- CSRF protection on state-changing requests
- Argon2id / bcrypt password hashing
- Regular dependency and vulnerability review
Why not a CMS framework?
OJS already provides the application layer. Wrapping it in an additional framework adds complexity without adding value — our surrounding tooling stays deliberately minimal so it's easier to maintain and audit.
